The Baloch American Congress (BAC) has said the army-installed government of Jam Kamal has no interest in helping the people of Balochistan as it has been tasked to further the agenda of the Rawalpindi GHQ.
“Resources of Balochistan are being used to brutalize the people. In the recent budget, millions of dollars have been allocated to death squads,” Dr. Tara Chand, president of the BAC, said in a statement on Sunday.
He said protesters against the graft and corruption in Balochistan were not only attacked and wounded by the police in armored vehicles outside the Balochistan assembly but false cases were also registered against opposition members of the provincial assembly.
He said the provincial government passed a $3.71 billion budget but no change is expected in a lot of the common people.
He said talk about development in the budget is a cruel joke as Balochistan remains in the grip of a tsunami of human rights violations where schools and clinics have been turned into army camps.
“Chief Minister Jam Kamal, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, has given a blank check to the Pakistan military and security services to do what they please. But the multi-generational collaborators of the Pakistani deep state like Jam Kamal must understand they cannot postpone the wrath of the people forever.”
Dr. Tara Chand, who is a former government minister of Balochistan, appealed for a broad unity of democratic forces on burning issues such as the human rights situation to defeat the army stooges in Balochistan.
