The Baloch American Congress Tuesday expressed serious concern over the enforced disappearance of a young Baloch intellectual and called upon the U.S. leadership to help stop Pakistan military crimes against humanity in Balochistan.
“The atrocities being committed by the Pakistan army, Frontier Corps and intelligence services are reminiscent of Hitler’s atrocities against Jews,” said Dr Tara Chand, president of the BAC. “The forced abduction of a young Baloch intellectual is a classic example of Nazi-style injustices on the Baloch people.”
Dr Tara Chand called upon legislators on both sides of the aisle to condemn Pakistan terrorism on his Baloch people.
“Hafeez Baloch is an MPhil student who loves to teach youngsters in his community in Khuzdar. It is height of injustice that he has been forcibly disappeared without due process of law.”
He lamented that security forces were not even allowing the people the right to protest as they were hounding and intimidating people who were showing solidarity with the Baloch intellectual at the Islamabad Press Club.
“It’s true that when injustice becomes the law, resistance becomes the duty. That’s exactly what’s happening in Balochistan,” he said.
Dr Tara Chand pointed out that already upwards of 5,000 Baloch patriots are languishing in ISI gestapos throughout Balochistan and Sindh.
“The only crime of these activists was they demanded the right to self determination for the Balochistan.
Meanwhile, the BAC also condemned the lodging of sedition cases against prominent human rights defender Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir and called it a travesty of justice.
