The Baloch American Congress (BAC) has appealed to Western nations and corporations not to become a party with Islamabad in the ruthless exploitation of Balochistan resources, including the Reko Dik gold and copper project.
“Civilized states and businesses should not ink any agreement with the Pakistani government on exploration the natural resources of Balochistan because the Baloch people do not trust the rulers of Pakistan,” Dr. Tara Chand, president of the BAC, said in a statement Saturday.
He said Pakistani rulers have for decades stolen Balochistan’s gas from Sui, and one of the key leaders of Balochistan, former governor and chief minister, Nawab Akbar Bugti, was killed 15 years ago on the orders of the Pakistan army chief and coup leader Gen Pervez Musharraf after Nawab Bugti resisted the loot and plunder.
He said cronies of former dictator Gen Musharraf made hundreds of millions of dollars in quick bucks at the Reko Dik gold and copper project and are now posing as if they were philanthropists in the West.
He said the Chinese company called Metallurgical Corporation of China had been busy committing daylight robbery at the Saindak gold-cum-copper project for nearly three decades while Baloch children remain barefooted in Chagai.
“Islamabad has done nothing but looting. So we appeal to organizations around the world not to make any agreements with Pakistan,” Dr. Tara Chand, a former government minister, appealed.
He said it would be unwise to trust Islamabad’s words and actions in Balochistan as the rulers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad are only interested in stealing the resources of Balochistan and not in uplifting Baloch society.
He appealed to all Baloch patriotic forces and leaders to unite against Islamabad’s atrocious and rapacious policies in Balochistan, that border on medieval brutalities unbridled in the world today.
